Okay guy's so this is in response to Zac's thread. Dump back stories here if you want. Just nowhere else because then you guy's make a mess and I have to go and clean it up.

Any ways this is the back story for my custom god Nazar. More coming up on my actual character.

Okay so here it goes:

Deity: Nazar

Domains: Death, DeathBound, Law, Knowledge, Magic, Evil, Undeath

Favored Weapons: Ranseur

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Relations: Nazar has a rather ill standing with most other gods, especially those who he contests with and those who go against him. For the most part though Nazar cares not for nature and thus has no qualms with the gods of nature, unless however they get in his way. But the gods of good and the gods of chaos Nazar despises and he commands his follower to dismantle the religions of those gods through conversion or by other means...

Description: Nazar is a relatively new god and he takes great interest in the lives of his followers. He often picks champions and gives them clerical powers to go and spread the word of Nazar. Nazar leads his champions to him through a clever series of events that Nazar plans. He guides them towards him and gives them a sign to show that he has chosen him. Often through a dream.

Dogma: Nazar is a god of brutal tyranny. He tells his followers to instill mighty Tyrannies and to convert or destroy the infidel. He tells his followers that people must live under the guidelines of the laws. He commands them to rule justly however and to use the full extent of the law to make sure that people live long happy lives and to prosper. He absolutely despises chaos and good and that his followers must undermine the goals of any with theses alignments. Nazar has no qualms with the raising of the dead and he actually encourages his followers to raise the dead as they obey any orders given without question.

Afterlife: The followers of Nazar believe that if they die serving their god that they will be transported to his own personal plane of existence, a utopia of lawfulness where everything is perfect.

Worshipers: Followers of Nazar come from all classes and walks of life. All are equal in the eyes of Nazar. The gather in cults and attempt to take over communities and sometimes when enough cults are unified entire kingdoms. The followers of Nazar believe that they have nothing to lose. They either instill the Tyranny they have been longing for or go to visit Nazar in the afterlife a little early… It is the duty of the clerics of Nazar to travel around and establish cults and to gather followers to initiate crusades against Good and Chaos.

Holy Books: So far there is only one known holy book of Nazar. It is known as the Scriptures of Blood. Word is however that a Cleric of Nazar by the name of Mortem is busy writing another…

Sorry for the wall of text... :DFGRT4:

Okay so here is my cleric of Nazar! His name is Mortem Imperator.

Mortem Inperator hails from far to the west. He had a humble beginning and at one time was just a lowly peasant. He and his family tended the family owned farm that his great grandfather had worked so hard to buy many generations ago. Until the fateful day everything changed. Bandits came and razed the town and slaughtered everyone. Mortem barely managed to survive the confusion by pretending to be dead. He lay amongst his slaughtered family and smeared blood from their wounds to fool the bandits into believing he was dead. By the time the bandits decided to pile up the bodies and burn them it was late at night and the raid was over long ago. Many of the bandits were drunk from all the plundered alcohol and it was easy for Mortem to sneak away into the night. He ran for the nearby woods where he found a small cave where he decided to spend the night. It was that night that he had a terrible dream. In his dream he saw a large sprawling city ablaze and heard the shouts and screams of the dying people. He then saw arise from the ashes a large golden triangle with the name Nazar engraved upon it and he heard the continued chant of his name, Mortem, Mortem, Mortem... There was a blinding flash and he awoke. When he awoke however he noticed that in this cave there lay the corpses of many long dead people. He hadn't seen them before due to the darkness of the night and only now in the light of day did he happen to notice them. It didn't look like they died in a struggle however it looked like they all simultaneously died at once. He also saw at the end of the cave a more peculiar corpse; it lay on the floor with and outstretched hand towards a book. It was the most beautiful book Mortem had ever seen. It was bound with blood red leather and Gold Plating. On its cover it bore a golden triangle with the name Nazar engraved in it. Mortem spent many days reading this book. He learnt that it was the called the Scriptures of Blood. This unholy book contained the word of Nazar. Mortem was deeply intrigued by this book. He learnt that Nazar often picked his Clerical Champions by guiding them to holy sites and giving them signs in their dreams. Mortem soon understood his dream. He realized that he had been picked by Nazar to become a cleric. To destroy the forces of good and chaos and too help convert all to the causes of Nazar. Days later after some practice and from guides in the book Mortem discovered his clerical powers. He raised the corpses of the dead that lay around him and in a rage he marched back to his razed village with his new found companions. Arriving at the village, Mortem saw that the bandits still had not gotten around to burning the bodies but they decided to hang around for a bit and rest. Mortem delighted at the bandit’s face of terror when the mounds of bodies began to move and attack the bandits. As each bandit fell it strengthened Mortems horde. It was a quick defeat and Mortem delighted at the power of his unstoppable horde. He looted the corpses of the bandit band and found the belongings of the entire town and all the previous towns the bandits had plundered. He found many magical items and a very big pile of gold. Since then Mortem has gone around attempting to convert all to the word of Nazar. Not having much luck but still remaining hopeful, he has since heard that far off to the east in the Taqisis Desert a frontier settlement known as Fort Tath is seeking adventurers. The old Dwarf commander has passed away and now three candidates are fighting to prove their worth to become the new commander. Heading the call of glory Mortem has set off in that direction. He seeks to find which ever candidate will hear what he has to say and help spread the word of Nazar. In return Mortem will do whatever he must do to get that candidate to become the new commander. That and whatever else they are offering, gold and treasure are always nice…

My character is a lawful neutral rogue named Ricros Darkeyes who hates chaos when seen. He was a petty thief in the town of four winds and then his family was attacked by demons the creature of chaos. After this he became lawful and only wield axiomatic weapons created a small party for an adventure to the Abyss yielding no success. After he traveled back to the metropolis where he developed a love of books/codex’s/Librams/tomes. He spent a tremendous amount of time and money upgrading his collection of ancient text. He spent Several years training the art of calligraphy and writing as well as feinting. By reaching Level eight Ricros library was getting overfull and he was asked to join the adventure we have now, as a rogue.

Lendys is the dragon god of balance and justice. Unlike Chronepsis, who judges dragons after they die, Lendys metes out justice during a dragon's life.

Worshipers

The clerics and paladins of Lendys are justice-bringers, often serving as judges and arbiters for local communities.

Lendys's clergy get along well with worshippers of St. Cuthbert, and poorly with the followers of chaotic gods such as Kord, Olidammara, and Erythnul.

Title(s): Scale of Justice, The Balancer, Weigher of Lives
Home plane: Mechanus
Power level: Lesser Deity
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Portfolio: Balance, Justice
Domains: Destruction, Dragon, Law, Protection, Retribution

Maggot-Vermilion

Back story:

Maggot is one of the first loyal followers of Nazar. He was a slave as a boy and was bound to the torture of his master. He roamed the gritty streets of the under bridge for years, until he was captured by a clan and was taken to a stone house where he was cut in the chest to mark a sacrifice. The small child then grew red with anger, as millions of rats and centipedes crawled all over himself and the clan. He broke out of his bondage covered in blood. His body became sou-rounded by vermin and black shadows. He took the knife out of the struggling clan member and sliced open his jugular vein. The clan member dropped. He proceeded out the door as the countless vermin followed him with humble looks of angst. Nine years later that same child is now a renowned town miscreant. Countless years have brought him loneliness and bad labels. But it is just what he wanted. One afternoon after completing a job for a local smith, he came across a crack in the street of-which was glowing purple and green. it began to grow wider as the crack seemed to run up in a dome formation into the sky...

Out from it pored symbols and rock. The startled wizard cast upon himself an invisibility spell. And as a body fell form the sky, he removed it. in this half-dead body's dying words, "p-please take t-this necklace.. It will help you, c-c-continue the prodigy..." Maggot was speechless as the crack in the dimensional space closed taking the body with it...

The only things that remained where the necklace and a small piece of paper with instructions on how to build a particular safe house, with strange triangle symbols all around the paper....

What's good at burning extra time other than researching random D&D related things and reading random
D&D books and source material?
